Box went off over a week ago done sw update yesterday updated but channels are still off apart from sky news and sony 1 2 3 4 5 done factory default is there a frequency I need to switch to or should they come on automatic Thanks

have you followed the rules,do a factory reset/default and rescan from your main strongest coaxial feed ,choose correct netid also,some channels may have moved tp and it maybe a short wait for them to come back.

Presume the encrypted channels are there but scrambled.?
The box,router and modem have rebooted.
Scan on TW NetID 40969,and set to network.

Did the box update, Menu/System Info --Date.?

If no channels scan from the wall socket without splitter.

The ethernet cable (router to box) is it OK

Tried rescan checked all the leads can only get 1 2 3 4 5 sky news and sony any ideas can I put different QAMS (64) or different channel before rescan? Thanks

if that is all yer gettin i think yer either scanning wrong net id or provider m8

did you try doing a s/w update first and then a factory reset and scan,reboot all units on internet.

The Qam problem was related to the Starview,Kryptview scans both 64 and 128 Qams at the same time.
The 790 has two tuners has the other tuner been tried.
Again are the channels there but showing scrambled,if so scanning is not your problem but internet connection
If the box worked before with the old firmware(Nov 2011) reinstall it

does that box have 2 tuners as in 2 inputs,not seen the rear of a 790 yet,think they may be stopping the 24042011 firmware so curious if that was on yours?

The two encrypted channels Sky News,Sony use the same TP with 708: Disney XD+1 is the box picking up 708 channel,this would suggest only one TP being picked up.
If so,start from scratch and Scan on TW NetID 40969,and set to NETWORK not to ALL..

The 790T is what you have and was made for Ireland,it has duel cable-terrestrial tuner,but can be used in the UK.
Given that you are picking up two non-FTA channels (Sky News and Sony) it looks like you are scanning the correct tuner.

This was asked before, are the channels there but showing"bad or scrambed" the reason for asking this is because if they are there it's not a scanning problem.

Some are coming up bad or scrambled but these are mostly the TV 317 318 etc these channels are the movies and sports etc but not showing as names

What firrmware is on the box Menu --System Info

No can,t view movies or sports software pv4.1.01 H/W version v4.0.0 don,t know where to look for firmware

OK looks like you have the latest software,normally the date is just used.
Best go back to the beginning and do a factory default Menu--Installation--Factory Default,this removes all channels,and then scan from a direct feed NO splitter straight from the wall socket.

The NetID for your area can be found on a VM sub box (one you pay for) Settings--Tech Stuff from remote
If no sub box try 40969 as you NetID
Where it show Nework [ok] ===4 TELEWEST

No that sound like TPs (frequencies) it's showing and there should be around 60 not 6

Tried rescan on M8s got more channels but picture is freeze framing must be something wrong with the box anybody had repairs done before.
