hi guys, took me all day but finally cracked it. saw a post about switching off and on box when starting to load and started downloading ok. scanned everything and all ok. Thanks guys, have a happy xmas as i know my kids and i will now kv working. cheers.
ps: do i need to do anything in future to maintain channels or does it all update by itself. have read some posts about s/w updating. thanks

Channels update when box is on stand-by mode and Power Search Mode is On
Menu - Systems Settings - Other Settings - Power Search Mode = ON

For future software updates,
Menu - Installation - S/W Updates, Net connection is needed
Best not to bother with updates if box is working OK
