remote control trouble

remote playing up at the moment.New batteries but works when it wants to.Any advice welcome

I'm no expert but ours had done that before and I've just bought a new one! Hth!

Try this to check the remote
Using a camera phone as if taking a picture of the I/R on the remote push a button on the control,if it lights up it's NOT the remote.

tryed to camera phone trick you cann see the light flashing as you press the button.Does this mean my remote works problem is from the box end?? Or shall i buy new remote????

Looks like your box take the top off and have a look,there MAY be something blocking the I/F or a loose connection.
Remember to turn off first.

jonpc i tried what you asked gave it a little clean out put it together and now it works don't know what i did.hoefully it should stay working
