My father reset to factory settings and now i'm unable to update software as it says Already Updated... ,so when I scan I only get 11 TPs....please help

Doing a factory reset has not touch the software, the netid has been deleted, the way I got mine back was to do more factory resets until my netid showed, not a done a factory reset since.

Not a fan of factory resets (FR), the NetID is the problem, believe it could be 40969 provider Telewest. Taff is in that area, I think, he maybe able to confirm.
Tell your Dad not to do another FR (after it's up and running) they're more trouble than help. lol

As stated factory resets (FC) are now needed to recover the NetID, this could take time as a number of FC will most likely be needed.
best way to find your correct NetID is from a VM sub box, one you pay for, Settings-Tech Stuff-Top of the list is the NetID.
Factory reset is not a good idea which in my view is only good for changing from one NetID to another, eg moved to different area.

I always did a factory reset when i needed to rescan,so should i stop doing so from now on?

There has never been a need to factory reset after a rescan, you have been lucky unlike some your NetID has been picked up soon after.
A factory reset removes NetID therefore also removes channels/favs/provider it does not remove software so no bugs removed.
Factory reset is needed to find a NetID, if as said before moving to a different area/NetID
