Post by lily Sun Sep 15 2013, 13:13

Have not had SS1 and 3 for months seem to be missing the TP as cannot get other channels on this frequency.  Have tried everything direct scan, manual scan, etc.  Is there anyway I can get the missing TP.

Thanks

You maybe using the wrong provider/Net ID, check your sub box (if you have one) Menu-Tech Stuff- Net.ID or ask a neighbour
Scan direct from the wall socket, no splitter

Have tried everything, perhaps there is a problem with the box.

Wouldn't think there is a problem with the box, if this was the case it would have got worse in the last few months.
How many TPS do you have, has a check on a sub box been done.
Is there someone in the same area,  a box to box can be done.

Not sure what the sub box is but I scanned the provider that I have always used.  when I scanned there were 100 TPs.

A sub box is a VM box you pay for, there is a chance your provider has changed, reason for 100 TPs is because a factory reset has not been done for a period of time.
DON'T DO A FACTORY RESET, some who have done one have lost most channels.

I'm presuming the box does not show SS1 or SS3 as scrambled or no video.
Reducing the number of TPs may help look thought your list for some TPs the box don't use and delete.
To delete TPs without doing a factory reset Menu_User Preference_Sat./TP.Edit_Go to your provider eg NTL, use right arrow scroll down to delete TP the use left arrow.

Thanks for the info, sorry to be a pain but how do I know what tps the box doesn't use?  How many tps should I have if everything was okay?

70/80 tps fo a kv box is about right.

Have a look at the channel sticky put the tps used in your area beside the listed channels, the other tps are obsolute.

Would agree around 70/75 TPs.
Your box A780 doesn't use HD TPs delete these TPs, if you mistaken delete the good ones there will reappear after a scan.

Asked before SS1 & SS3 do the channels show "scrambled or no video"
 Or
There is no channels listed.

Have looked at the tp list and the channel sticky.  Really not sure what I should do but the TP for ss1 is missing from my list.  If you could give me some basic tips on what to do I would be very grateful.

Thanks for your help so far.

No need to do anything as the TP is not missing "Scrambled or no video"means its a Net problem not VM, have seen people in the Bristol area having the same fault, just have to wait.

The connection between router to box is it wired/wifi/homeplugs.?

Bristol area appears to have a problem with SS1 & SS3 Belfast area problems with SS2 & SS4
All areas problems with SSN & BT 1 & 2 SD

Are you in the Bristol area, that may be your problem, wired is the best.
