New upgrade, how to do it

I just brought a new "evolution a780 krptyview box" The system info states "date:26/10/2010, software version: Evolution v1.7.00, H/W version: v3.0.0 , Can anyone tell me if i need to change these setting, and if so, how do i go about this?. I am new to this so please forgive my ignorance. Thanks.

the box will need flashing with newer s/w m8 or if you have a m8 with same box do a box to box transfer with nuull cable

Hi i have just bought a new box for a mate and would like to know how to transfer firmware from my box to the new box i have a null modem cable would be grateful for any info.
