Kryptview a780 scrambled or no video

Hi Guys

I have just bought a Kryptview a780 which was currently being used by a mate. Here is what I have done so far:
1. Connected the line feed direct to the box.
2. Restored factory setting.
3. Set area code and provider + Scanned for channels.
4. Connected the Lan cable.
4. I managed to get 55 channels but I can only view the normal free channels whilst the rest are scrambled.

Could you please advice me as to how I can solve this problem.

Reboot the box,modem and router.
Has the ethernet cable from box to router been used before with a box.
Don't appear to be any problem with scan as all channels are showing scrambled,I presume your friend uses the same Net ID

Thanks Jon for a quick response. I have rebooted both the Router and the box but channels are still scrambled. The Ethernet cable is new and has not been previously used for this purpose. The Net ID has changed since I live in a different area from my mate.

Which Network have you picked? How many network options do you get.... make sure you try them all.

I have tried 2 networks in my area and still no joy. Do I have to just try the networks showing my area or any others from neighbouring towns.

justyour area. SO you only have 2 networks? I had 4 and it was the last one i tried!

If you have a VM sub box Settings--Tech Stuff-- No1 (top one) that will show which Net ID to use.

NetId - 40973 (a00d) - Wolverhampton 1
NetId - 40974 (a00e) - Wolverhampton 2
NetId - 40995 (a023) - Wolverhampton TRIALS

I am in the birmingham area and have even tried other areas such as Wolverhampton to no avail.
Could it be that the software needs updating. The current version on the box is:
Date: 24/04/2011
Software Version: Kryptview A780 pv3.8.00
H/W version: v3.0.0

The NetID according to Tech Stuff = 40973.
Please advise, I am pulling my hair out. I have been resetting and rescanning for several times with no joy.

hi jonpc, ime very interested in buying the kryptview780,i think its better than starview.ive read that you dont need a box or subsciption although ime on v/m,any idea were to buy i have looked up dcrecievers so far and just searching around,was on eurobox untill blah blah. so any help would be great in getting up and running again.

Reckon he means a VM box

A VM feed is needed
DCrecievers give good deals

KV like SV are having their troubles although KV are not asking for a subscription to mend theirs.

yes i did mean a v/m box,sorry to confuse,so you just use the feed straight to the kv. as regards to starview i thought you had to buy a new box when these crashed.

no m8 yer need a router as well modem to route router to computer and kv box you will also have to flash kv

sorry for the late responce TAFFYD,yes i have router,modem with v/m bb,just reading up on the latter.looks all similiar to loading the eurovox,ie null modem cable to computer, then follow instuctions to load and scan from here on site, then hopefully up and running. when i buy the box the lan cable should be supplied,if things dont workout ill speak to you soon. cheers m8.
