scrambled channels

Hi guys, still getting used to kv box after being with the box for a while'
The problem i have is at certain times the channel i watch ie; sly 1 keeps saying scrambled or no video channel. I have to switch on to another channel then go back to it for it to be ok. This happened about 6 times on this channel today in the same game . Is this the way the kv box can behave at times?.
Also kv box is left on basically 24/7 and never onto standby. Is this relevant and does it need to be off for updating?

do you just have broadband or a package tv and broadband as it sounds like a low signal,what is your level and quality like.

i have a package inc phone b/band and tv. have nthell box in front room then there is a splitter going to back room to kv box. lost all channels about 5 mins ago for 10 mins then all came back on .
Siganl is 77 and quality 79 and they all average about that mark.
Have permanent connection to net via lan cable.
Do i need to have vm box connected aswell? channels have been scrambling quite a lot today. Would appreciate any ideas. thanks

There has been problems this evening not sure about today,mast of the KV boxes went down.

VM boxes should be connected at all times, as VM will know if boxes are in use or not. Why pay for it and not use it.their chain of thought.

KV boxes are best put on stand-by from time to time,turning box and router off may solve some loss of channel problems

hi, sly 1 came back all ok but have still not got all channels. have no radio channels at all . never had them when first install. All adult channels are scrambled and some channels like living also. not that bothered as long as sports and films are working. Just a bit frustrating at moment as had the box for 18 mths with relatively no problems at all till it died of nag3itis. thanks guys.

if you scan wrong id you will miss channels.also check what firmware is on box,

not the same as older boxes as things have now changed,also tv package with broadband needed also,direct feed only and lan removed before scanning.

hi, i think i scanned the kv both times with the lan connected but it
was scanned on the correct net id 00019 cov. As i have both bb and tv package i need to have a splitter to the kv from the nthell supply connection. Do splitters go down as had this one approx 2 years. The firmware is the one from sept 2010 i saw on forum. thanks

reset box and just rescan it with a direct feed no splitters then connect your splitter after set up

is that a factory reset?. does this reset just clear the channels but leave the firmware loaded or will i have to download firmware again?

you can just delete all channels if you want then re-scan

factory reset just erases channel data,power off after you delete channels for a min then on and continue.

hi, deleted all channels as suggested, Didn't turn off box after though just stby then on again.
removed splitter and linked direct to vm feed
disconnected lan while scanning,
Still have no radio channels and various others.
Did notice that when i deleted each category that the radio channels suddenly appeared. Could it be that some of the channels are duplicated and deleting them can sort this problem out. On scanning it found 54 tp that already existed but did not give me option to choose network 0019 cov. All sly channels are ok at mo.

not doing it right,look at net ids again and see ,scan wrong provider will give wrong info.also power off at back.then on and continue
menu- factory settings oooo to delete.
have you tried all the providers ntl,t w and c&w,and do a factory reset and power off box between scans means you start afresh

hi, re-scanned correctly as advised. found radio channels but not in category index, have to switch onto radio from remote. The channels i need are working ok. Other channels not that bothered about at moment.picture can freeze for a couple of secs pending what channel your on but still pleased that kv is working. been used to starview for a long time so it takes a bit of getting used to.Thanks for your continued help guys, have a great new year.
