Ok, 2 nights ago both my boxes suddenly stopped working! I've left it a few days, there is no issue with Vermin in the area. I've pulled all the wires out and used new wires, nothing is working! 

When i do factory reset (x10!) when i search for channels on auto i do not get to select my network ID. I should see about 58/59 freq but i'm only getting around 11 because of this (i think). 

I was thinking reflashing may help? But i no longer have the loader of file, any ideas where i can get this? I'm at my wits end!!!

Looks like doing a factory reset the Netid has been deleted not a good idea, best I can offer is keep doing a factory reset hope the netid reappears.
Software can be updated with remote, menu/installation/SW Update net connection needed.

Ok so I'm going down the route of reflashing it. When i try to update via the menu it just sits on the that screen, attempts to download nothing. Yes there is definately a net connection ( I actually put my hand in the cupboard to see the flashing orange and green light reflect on my hand!) 

Now as I'm trying to reflash all i get is 'can't open serial port 1. please check if the com port has the parameters'. Then there is the parameters. Sorry guys i do appreciate your help, but i'm stumped!

Sorry to keep flooding this ! I'm just trying to keep you informed. Flashed once then usb and scart didnt work. reflashed they are now working. Gotone box updating just saying searching new update, for 20 minutes now. The other i have on manual scan and still shows nNO quality but plenty of signal! Over to the brains!

It is possible that the box has the latest software menu/system info/date 20/01/15 assuming the box is a KV 780.?

NO firmware is 26/05/13. That is the file i just found and put on. Thought I could then update via the options, but I've just aborted it after waiting around 30 minutes for this to work!

Thanks guys, just did the one box, still no quality. I think this is the issue behind it all! But how to get better quality!? I've checked the local vermin service status thing and it says there is 2 issues on broadband and 1 on tv. The tv issue it says only effects 1 tv channel, so i'm pretty sure its not that. But could the quality be effected by the issue with their broadband?

It's not a broadband problem
Your VM TV box does that work.? if not get in touch with VM.

Suggest you keep doing a factory reset (FR) to get the NetID back it could take a while, bet you don't do another FR.
You may have more chance using both boxes to find FR.
