Presume you swapped the boxes,if it goes off but the FTA channels are still on its the internet connection.
Try changing the connections on the splitter for the boxes, could be the port on the splitter.

If your able to receive FTA channels on both boxes at the same time, then it's your clines or internet feed, are you using a ethernet cable.

What I would do, connect both together with an ethernet cable to router if they work its the homeplugs.
Presume FTA channels work at the same time on both boxes.

hi
think I found cause
can't split the signal looks like I need 2 feeds one to each box
does that sound right
it's a communal dish with one outlet in house looks like need to get another feed to other box...

It worked before why not now.!
As before do the FTA channels work on both boxes at the same time.?
From what you say it would be more likely to be the homeplugs, hardwire them.

when you connect thru homeplug does it connect with same IP?
if it doesn't then there mgiht be ip conflict...
like jon said check if you can get FTA channels at both end

using a splitter on a sat feed is a no no i was always told as its having boxes connected that both have power feeds .
best bet is if you can get another sat feed in.

If FTA channels work at the same time feed would be OK,as said they worked before.
Using two boxes from the same feed, also connect neighbours together as one of them couldn't put a dish up.
If using one line for both boxes, perhaps provider don't allow that.
