Invalid Mac

Hi,

I have just purchased a A780 and updated it as per the instructions using the following software:
Date 24/04/1011
Software Version Kryptview A780 pv3.8.00
H/W Version v3.0.0

The LAN connection looks to be working OK (green light on, yellow flashing) but I am getting the following error message on the TV screen "Invalid Mac" and no channels.

Can you help.

Do you have any details of the originals supplier.
I got the box from ebay.

was the box new or second hand,but i would still contact the person it was bought off as it wont work.

The box was second hand but advertised as in perfect working order.
I have already contacted the seller and hopefully he will get back to me soon.
If its an easy fix I was wondering if Kryptview may be able to help.

thats the strange thing an invalid mac is only on the box from new and it cannot work,so how can box work if in perfect order? only a kv dealer can fix it.

I think the seller know it was faulty when he sold it to me.
the advertisement says FTA but I asked the seller if it could be upgraded and he said yes.

reflash with fta and send it back .

Johnpc did some digging around and found that updating with original FTA firmware then updating to a 2011 pached firmware, then updating to latest firmware through box online may resolve no mac issue

It is a long shot,but better to have the FTA software on if box has to be return to supplier.
The "invalid mac"appears to come with two different problems,one that can be fix with FTA then updating to the latest firmware,the other has to be sent back to the supplier.

nice work guys worth a shot to try first,but you cant update from fta as there is no s/w option only in the 2011 there is .

Like the FTA the S/W is updated manually then the remote is used for the latest Nov 2011

so he needs to do 2 firmware updates by null modem first the fta file and then a 2011 file,then update online by s/w method.

Hi,

The seller on ebay as just agreed to refund my money so the box will be going back tomorrow.

Are the boxes still working OK as I have just read a posy about black Friday which seams to say they are down?

the odd post with glitching problems in some areas but boxes are still working,that was an old post.
