Help a noob out

I haven't used my box since 1-2 years.

Now I just installed the 2.2.1 firmware (file name: smgo221.ups). I didn't work. I still get the not connected message. I also get the scramble message. Also, when I went to sky sports and typed in 1819 and then a message came up saying the box is not registered... How do i register it?

Click register. Once you have registered click on "Subscribe to VIP" in the top right (at this stage you need your box number).
Approx 48 hours later you will be up and running
