Nag 3 Area Change (updated 03/1010) Last up-date - Page 2 Empty Re: Nag 3 Area Change (updated 03/1010) Last up-date

Post by turkeytrot Thu Apr 15 2010, 12:12

Well, I certainly scanned the correct provider (NTL), but I'm not sure what you mean by 'direct feed'. The box was connected directly to my TV in the normal way when I did the scan, if that's what you mean - was that the correct thing to do? The strange thing is that if I select a channel that isn't working, the channel name banner appears for a few seconds and then a blue band appears displaying 'data is being updated' (just as they all the channels do when the codes have been changed). Most of them only reach 30%, or maybe 50% and then go no further. Also, the box freezes at this point and I have to switch it off and on again to unfreeze it. Any ideas? Thanks.

Direct feed means no splitter, photo as below
https://dooby2oons.forumotion.com/starview-f1/lost-sky-sports-1-west-midlands-on-starview-t1898.htm#10387

Try press the default key (menu - 1570 - Default Key) and let the box update,it may go passed 100% let it.

The channels you have are they FTA (BBC1 ITV etc

As things stand? Forget it and use your box as a doorstop. No box unless you go for CS and that isn't recommended.

Well. The card has arrived here in the Paisley area so it won't be long till the big switch off. Been a good long run and should see out the rest of the footie season so that's a plus I suppose.
I'm sure some of the very clever people will set their minds to cracking this code and we'll be back brighter than ever in the near future. If not? I'll be sure to keep this site on my favourites and try to contribute to the other topics and threads.
Thanks you guys for all your help in keeping me on air so long.
Let's just hope it's Au revoir and not goodbye to free viewing!

Might as well put it in now. It'll make no difference to whether your box continues to work or not. That will happen when the changeover to Nag three happens. Watch the channels disappear one by one.

Do you have a VM box you pay for,is it working.
If so,has a new card been received, check channel 997on VM box if no channel you are not on Nag 3
Asian and Movie channels as normal go first with the rest to follow at a later date.

I don't have VM, but my neighbor doeas. he tried channel 997, got a messege saying invalid
channel or something of that effect. but he has not recieved any new card from VM. so it coould
be a thechnical glitch as they (VM) switch over.

i have eurovox max black, i get a "no signal"/"looking for signal" messege.

Your area sounds O.K.
A rescan is needed when VM change to 3.7 before it becomes
Nag3.
If still no help try it in your neighbour's set up as VM may have disconnected you from the street.

There is no new keys for Swansea and not likely be any as all areas are changing to Nag 3 soon.
Swansea may have an area fault or may have change to 3.7 firmware (for VM boxes only) then a rescan is all that is needed.

I've lost a few channels as of yesterday. strange though. The channels are Man U: Liverpool: MTV shows: and a couple of shopping channels. Anyone know if this is the norm as the changeover happens? Just curious as I know the big bang is just around the corner for us Glasgow punters!
