Nag 3 Area Change (updated 03/1010) Last up-date Empty Re: Nag 3 Area Change (updated 03/1010) Last up-date

Post by jonpc Tue Mar 02 2010, 23:59

Important: Have you swapped your TV smartcard yet?
VM update on 02/03/10, 04:27 PM

Virgin Media has started to send out new smartcards to its TV customers, currently we're sending them to customers in Watford, Seven Kings, Kirklees, Wessex-Poole, Ashford, Hayes, Southampton and Derby. The new smartcard is easy to swap with the old - find out how at Switching your Smart Card.

The new smartcard is important. It works differently to the old card, and uses newer technology which will form part of a range of exciting new digital TV services from 2010 and onwards, including more HD channels, new TV on demand features and of course we’re also working on integrating TiVo into our TV service too!

Customers in the Watford, Seven Kings, Kirklees, Wessex-Poole, Ashford, Southampton and Derby should have already received their new cards (or will be recieving them soon) and it’s important your old card is swapped out as soon as possible. Over the next few days, in the regions listed, we’ll be turning off some of the older TV signals on our network so if you haven’t swapped the card yet, please do so as soon as you can to ensure an uninterrupted service.

If you are in the Watford, Seven Kings, Kirklees, Wessex-Poole, Ashford, Southampton and Derby areas and think you need a new smartcard please head to Switching your Smart Card and check our frequently asked questions (FAQ).

If you’re not in one of the regions listed, don’t panic, everyone will be getting a new smartcard. We’ll be going around the country region by region as we upgrade our TV service, and we’ll be in touch by post when it’s your turn. In the meantime, don’t worry there won’t be any changes to your TV service until that time.

If you’re not currently a TV customer, there’s no better time to join! See what you’re missing at See what you're missing - Virgin Media great TV and check out our special offers at Virgin Media Special Offers: - Great savings on broadband, mobile, phone & TV.

"No" your box should still work as that area has not changed to Nag 3 as yet
Remember to delete the problem channels first before rescanning, reckon SS.1 & 3 use the same frequency.

This is for some areas East of Scotland
sports 1 546750
sports 2 666750
sports 3 546750
sports 4 411000

Delete the channel Menu - Channel Edit =0000- Blue button to delete.

Scan from a direct feed (no splitter) Menu - Installation - Manual Scan - Down Frequney = 546750 OK
If indeed 546750 is the correct frequency for your area.

Looks like you may have a faultly splitter, try another splitter
If splitter has any ports not being used try capping them ie join them together,if you dont't have any caps

Nag 3 Area Change (updated 03/1010) Last up-date Empty what do I do

Post by Mrsscales Wed Mar 31 2010, 18:20

NTL - all channels have gone, I've read the messages and although they make little sence, I get the impression there is nothing I can do to get the channels back.

What is all this Nag 3 about. How do I get all my channels back. Do I need to find someone to buy a new box from????? or is there a fix for the current box?

Without knowing your area or box there's not much anyone can do to help you.
If your area is in the Nag 3 section there is no fix.

I have a Starview box (a clone from China apparently) and as of today I can't get any channels at all (everyone says "scrambled or bad channel). Are you saying that once my area (Camberley) switches over to the new Nagra, my Starview box will be useless?
