New virgin modem 7 months ago..... when can reconnect

virgin sent me new modem 7 months ago coz i said mine was broken........... wasnt........ apparently they stop sending a signal to turn it off after a certain length of time.

Anyone know when it can be reconnected for free internet........................

know people who did it years ago...... only get 4mb speed but for free....... cant complain.

Each modem has a unique mac address, when you cancel they simply knock the mac off so you will be unable to connect.

The connection is still there but not the decryption, so 100% no go.

It may be possible to flash it and put a working 20 meg on it but that became quite problematic (constant rebooting) around 12 months or so ago.

If it's a pace 4100 (amongst others) then yes you will be able to flash it if you know what your doing,
I can then send you a working 20 meg mac via pm or email.
