Sat receiver info please
Hi. I have been looking around in a vain attempt to find a sat receiver, but as I have never used one before it all seems slightly (very) confusing. I used to own a SV5 USB, but when I moved it was to a non cable area, hence the switch. I have just looked at the Blade 7000 spec, but it may well have been written in Latin. Would this be the best option for what I want (recording, PPV etc...)?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Also, I am guessing that the satellite set-up will be more difficult than cable? As they wouldn't even give me the settings when I bought another router when I found theirs to be, lets just say, inadequate. So I had to find them myself online.
Thanks alot.

Re: Sat receiver info please
hi guys, I am new to the forum
I got mine today
easy setup
plugs in , switch on, upload firmware and channel list and I am already set , less than 5 minutes and all done through USB
took longer time to move between different sats as I got motorised system
watched SKYHD2 later on the day Barcelona vs Real , picutre quality amazing
things that I think is buggin me
channel lists and grouping but I think I will do that on the computer anyway with the software on the download section here
EPG is not great as I am using 3rd party firmware and not available on that yet
video streaming from computer to box is not available again on the firmware 119b
bottom line , I think the abilities of the box are great , as you can watch 3D channels on your normal HDTV with that ' will try later and feed back to you guys ', picture quality you can't fault it
you can play your file from USB drive , supports MKV, no need for Media player
you can stream directly from your PC to the box with through router
so hardware can do a lot of things with quality, just a bit of more support or a new firmware and I think for the price it is a great buy
hope you find that helpful

Re: Sat receiver info please
Got my receiver today...so far just scanned channels and watched free to air.
Downloaded the latest firmware onto my pc but not flashed the receiver as of yet.
Question.
Once flashed, what do I need to do further?
thank you

Re: Sat receiver info please
As doobs states - You now need to pay someone a subscription and set up their server info on your box (its not hard - only takes 5 mins)
However, be very careful when choosing your supplier as most of them supply rubbish servers (freezing glitching pictures).
Set-up an account (free) here http://www.cs-kings.org
Once you set up an account you will be able to view and contact the premium server providers (wizcams) is very good.
