HD combo via a cable network.

How to set up boxes via a card sharing server to receive the keys.

1: Get the file in downloads Starview HD Combo with lan. At time of post, latest Carling file is 0712.UAD.

2: Flashing your box.
Put your Carling file onto a USB stick and plug in to usb behind front flap. On your HD combo go to menu, Utility and do a Factory reset. Now browse to Accessory - USB, select your carling file and click ok. Select S/W + All data update and let it install. (do not unplug while updating)
After the update, make sure autoroll is set to on, in menu, press 8989, go to Accessory - key edit (if key edit isn't appearing, try 8989 again) make sure UCAS & autoroll is on.

You should now be able to pick up all your channels by going to Installation - cable auto search. The symbol rate determines your area for example N*l is 6887, the other numbers are 6952 for Telepe** and EXc&w. Let it find all your channels.


3: Setting up the cardsharing server
Make sure your box is connected to your router; there are also wireless adapters for the Starview if your network cable is to short or router is in another room.
Go to Menu - Accessory - Network - IP setup. Network setup should be set to auto and all the numbers should be filled in; IP address, subnet mask, mac address etc.

Now scroll down to CS Net and select Ustream (UK) or (Istream ireland now dead), it should connect and register your box automatically. The server is sometimes down, so if it doesn't connect right away, try later.

Most of your channels should be on. As of now, a lot of HD channels are not part of the CS network, so you won't receive them.

If you get the failed 20% you will probably already have a newer grooverider firmware installed, if so you will need to put older grooverider 1214.uad file on first as this will let you update to newer firmwares, just follow from step 1 and update with grooverider 1214.uad first, then when this completes do another factory reset and update with carling 0712.uad as before just follow from step 1 again and should update fine now


Channel list..
all your channels are categorised
pressing ok on your remote brings up the
channel list but it will be in simple layout, pressing the red button takes you to detail, now if your list don't appear to be categorised
you will need to press the SAT button on the remote and you need to select cable at the bottom of the list this will then give you the categories,
to change each section you simply use your left or right arrow buttons.

Nice guide I followed it yesterday after losing channels, and they all come back! BUT, today they seem to have gone again, my router froze this morning so the channels went, they come back on briefly when i reset the router but all are gone now, any ideas? It says its connected to CS still

Ahh thanks, I should of waited it out... instead I flashed the firmware again to grooverider thinking it was newer, now flashed carling back to it but can't pick up any channels in the scan, any ideas?

any time box is flashed a factory reset should be done and a fresh scan with lan removed and plug in when finished and reboot box and router.

if any problems you run into follow the tuts guides to assist you for that box,multiple flashing is not needed on any box but people keep doing it,so follow the guides as it should get you up and running quickly.

Yes, SV.HD Combo,SV6 and Kryptview will work.

It's the server thats gone down,not your box.

All I can say is that I followed the instructions exactly as they were written and everything worked fine but I cannot comment on the satelite side sorry

Cheers! I got the cable side working fine, I have the settings for a certain satallite broadcaster to. But when I input them into the server settings they just keep saying disconnected and wont make a connection to the satallite cccam server? So thats where I am stuck at! I can get FTA on satallite but not the cccam stuff.

can someone tell me how to make up a cccam file for card shareing would be greatful i have'nt a clue thanks

Yes,
Starview HD Combo,SV 6,SV7 and Kryptview A780 will all work in Northern Ireland
A live feed from router to box is needed,best to read the related sections for the above boxes

have lost channels like LFC ,sky one and few others if i change fireware will that resolve the problem i have carling -1.00 and sotfware version ver f5.12,ldr:ver 0021

There has been problems on some channels on all SV boxes for a few days going by reports.
