Starview HD Combo new guide satellite cardshare 2011

As i am getting lots of PM's from people trying to set up combo on satellite mainly down to cable server going down well here's some info

1: Get the file in downloads Starview HD Combo with lan. At time of post, latest Carling file is Carling+_F531_1207.UAD

2: Flashing your box. Put your Carling file onto a USB stick and plug in to usb behind front flap. On your HD combo go to menu, Utility and do a Factory reset. Now browse to Accessory - USB, select your carling file and click ok. Select S/W + All data update and let it install. (do not unplug while updating)

3: Setting up the cardsharing server
Make sure your box is connected to your router; there are also wireless adapters for the Starview if your network cable is to short or router is in another room.
Go to Menu - press 8989 then goto - Accessory - Network - Press ok then go to Type now you will see 4 more sections in the menu, go to Server setup and press OK You will see 10 different Servers in here, Go to and select off 1 and press ok in the menu it will say off, if you highlight OFF and go to the right on the remote you can pick CCCAM or NEWCAMD in the menu. This is where you can setup your cardshare server.

Input 1 line at a time when done press exit then save is highlighted then hit ok.
Do same on all lines and when all lines complete click apply at bottom of screen

I tried all the free info found on line for satallite ccam etc. and it did not work. Find A cheap pay site and load there configuration file and away you go until they get shut down or you stop subscribing.
Whith all the free info all I kept getting was not disconnected.
If possible get a 24 hour test first to check it works ok.

Hi can you confirm the Carling file is for Sat please - i was led to believe Carling is cable side only?

If its giving you a ccam page you should be good to go, you just need a working cline.

Thanks - got a test cline and all working. Just need a reputable server provider. Any opinions?

Also for those who need help, heres how i set up my SV combo:
I have read and read and managed to get this set up at last!!!!!!!
There are no clear instructions out there so here is a high level summary for wannabe sat users on the starview combo:

1) Get a satellite. If you just want Sky UK, then get a sat dish off ebay, Zone 1, it can be fixed rather than motorised. - you can use the skydish you already have (if you have one)
2) Set it up on your wall outside. Use a Sat meter to help you find where to point the dish - Astra 28E. There is a website out there (cant remember name of it) that will help you angle the dish - eg it uses google maps, you find your house on google maps, mark on it where you will put the dish, and it will draw a line of where it needs to face. This helped as I aligned mine with the house over the road .
3) Now on your starview Combo LAN box, download the firmware - Carling is for both Sat and Cable. (Groove rider is JUST cable)
4) Now you need a cline (server details) - get a test line from a website. This data can either be imported in via config file or manually input. This is done via MENU, ACCESSORY, NETWORK, SERVER SET UP - you need to enter the details from the cline The cline will either be a CCCAM or NEWCAM option.
Get a Test cline - the free ones on google dont work so pay the £1 for a one day trial to test your set up works and doesnt freeze.........

No, unless you are subscribing to sky - a cline gives you access to someones card which is subbing to sky

i just got a free 24 hour test after setting up the server still showing disconnected as far as i can tell the software is up to date on box any ideas, thank for any help

does your box modem and router need a reboot to get an ip addy.

i have put new firmware in box carling+F531_1207 UAD is that the right firmware also lost the sc net no ustream just say disconnected also when i go to the cccam i put the info for test line the words have gone funny for example were it says port should be five digit instead it give 2 digits and funny crosses 21xxx like so and same with ip address and password any help would be greatful i'm totally lost thanks

Good glad ur done - yeah the Carling F531 does that to the data (xxx's) whihc is a pain cus you doubt begin to doubt whether you entered the cline data in correct when it doesnt work - and as its xxx's showing you cant tell!!

do u have any idea which company server i should go for tried a few test lines they work but not stable connecting and disconnecting all the time any suggestion ,would be appreciated .thanks

ive followed all this steps and still nothing, where do you find a cccam that works ???

Google cccam test line for cccam and pick a website and if they offer a test line click on it they will ask for your email send them the info they ask for hopefully they will send u a test line,good luck

This box is a nitemare, none of the test lines ive got have worked, And for some reason i now seem to have only 8 server places for the cccam lines,, there should be 10. Can anyone recommend somewhere that works

Dosen't matter if only 8 places you only use one anyway, most servers use newcamd did you change to this setting

The email with test line server info if has C: at start then cccam in has N: then newcamd

yep done that,,, im using 531 firmware, my cs net status is now hs net status and just says disconnected and wont let me open it... my ip just says invalid mac adress.

you will prob need to run mac fix found in downloads then update with latest firmware

ran the mac fix, and re-entered my mac address (had to take the lid off), reloaded the firmware. Put in a free test cccam and its all running sweet as... and the missing 2 cccam lines have returned tho with an address in them but it removed without any problems.. thanks for help and advise,,

This is because you could spam and another rubbish could be sent to your address.

Best to start with which box you have.

The cable side on the Combo box will NOT work

The sat side WILL work but to start with a sat dish will be needed with a c/s subscription

Friend used them for a few months and you can pay through paypal
badnote the servers clitch and freeze so would not recommend.

I've used these for a good few months now, I always use paypal to pay them with no problems at all (a little complicated the first time you use there paypal system). They also give a good connection, very little down time and even better very little clitching unlike others that I have used.

So through my personal experience I would recommend them. They have two servers, choose the one that works best for you!

Can anybody help me. I have put F31 on my box and connected the box to my router. When I go into the network menu I only have. Type which is on. Network which is auto. Home stream server.There is no server set up menu
